Adult Christian Education Series, 6 pm Sundays
Have you ever wondered what the Presbyterian Church believes or why we believe what we believe?
Then the Sunday evening class is for you. Over the year we will explore the theology and traditions that come from the Confessions and out of the reformation. You are sure to be challenged and amazed about why and how we formed as a Christian community. This class will be basically three parts. The first third will look at the history and background of the confession. The second third will look at how they have been applied and their influences and the last third of the class will explore how we might express our faith in both individual statements of faith and a corporate church confession. This class will only require the preparation you wish to do. If you do not have the time to prepare you will still be able to fully participate. Contemporary Faith Issues Class, 8 pm Wednesdays
Is it important when the Bible was written? Is it important who wrote the Bible?
The answer to those questions depends on your approach and understanding of the Bible. This year our Wednesday evening class will explore the many different ways in which we approach the Bible as Presbyterians. Using articles and papers produced by the denomination and other scholars we will look at all of the different approaches and how each different approach can change the meaning or offer new insight into the passage. Many times we will be looking at the next Sunday’s sermon text as our working text. (so some may get a preview of things to come.) This class will only require the preparation you wish to do. If you do not have the time to prepare you will still be able to fully participate Bible Study/Soup Lunch, 10:30 am Thursdays
